Holstein is an agricultural community with a huge heart for community fund raising. From this dominant community spirit, came the birth of The Holstein Rodeo over 18 years ago. The Holstein Rodeo took a break, and an off shoot of the rodeo was created with The Holstein Agro Expo carrying forward the Eastern Canadian Sheep Shearing Competition. It is with great pleasure to announce, that it has been decided to bring back the nostalgic feeling of Rodeo in conjunction with the Holstein Agro Expo.

This event will include the Eastern Canadian Sheep Shearing Competition, Sheep to Shawl Competition, an Antique Tractor Show, Rodeo Performances produced by Rawhide Rodeo, and of course some Vendors! The Holstein Agro Expo and Rodeo will be held July 15th to 17th 2022.

Check out the Gallery tab for some great shots of the past years Agro Expo!!

Once again in 2022 we look forward to supporting our local Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. The mission of the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation is as follows:

“The primary goal of the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation is to meet the continuing financial challenges for quality health care. We are a charitable organization; a group of volunteers who are committed to developing, managing and distributing gifts to assist our Hospital in providing excellence in health care for the local community.”

It is always surprising to see the support that is given in the Holstein area for a community event such as this, raising funds for a local charity. Many local volunteers, and youth groups will be volunteering to make sure the weekend event runs smoothly to make it successful. Spearheading this event from the local perspective is Don Lewis and Cory Lewis who will be working alongside BJ Prince of Rawhide Rodeo, as well as, Committee Members to make this a successful event.

You are encouraged to pop by and meet the Cowboys, Cowgirls, and Sheep Shearer’s from all around the world. This will be a great family event to attend, however, it should be pointed out that there will “not” be any public camping available.
