Holstein Agro Expo & RODEO

Our committee, community and supporters are hopeful that this event will continue on the dates above. Due to the current pandemic, we have made a few changes to The Holstein Agro Expo & Rodeo. As provincial and municipal guidelines are changing daily, it is our responsibility to prepare for the safety of our competitors, spectators and volunteers.

There will be NO on-line pre-sales. This will be a walk up & pay event (method of payment TBA). Capacity will depend on Covid-19 regulations at that time. We will be monitoring this closely. Unfortunately, if capacity on the grounds is reached, we will have to turn guests away. (get there early and don’t miss out)!

• There will be plenty of hand washing & sanitizations stations, disposable masks available and social distancing will be encouraged. Masks are encouraged, but not mandatory. We encourage you all to follow guidelines for the safety of yourself and others.

• Most of all, relax, have fun and enjoy the show!
Thanks to our sponsors so far…. (there is still time to sponsor the event. In the event of cancellation, sponsorship will be carried over to next year)! Please contact Penny Lewis jayandpennylewis@gmail.com for more information regarding sponsorship opportunities.

Holstein is an agricultural community with a huge heart for community fund raising. From this dominant community spirit, came the birth of The Holstein Rodeo over 18 years ago. The Holstein Rodeo took a break, and an off shoot of the rodeo was created with The Holstein Agro Expo carrying forward the Eastern Canadian Sheep Shearing Competition. It is with great pleasure to announce, that it has been decided to bring back the nostalgic feeling of Rodeo in conjunction with the Holstein Agro Expo.

This event will include the Eastern Canadian Sheep Shearing Competition, Sheep to Shawl Competition, Dog Trials, an Antique Tractor Show, two Rodeo Performances produced by Rawhide Rodeo, and of course some Vendors. The Holstein Agro Expo and Rodeo will be held July 3 and 4, 2020 creating a great family social event to start off the month of July.

Check out the Gallery tab for some great shots of the past years Agro Expo!!

It was decided that proceeds from this event be donated to the local Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. The mission of the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation is as follows:

“The primary goal of the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation is to meet the continuing financial challenges for quality health care. We are a charitable organization; a group of volunteers who are committed to developing, managing and distributing gifts to assist our Hospital in providing excellence in health care for the local community.”

It is always surprising to see the support that is given in the Holstein area for a community event such as this, raising funds for a local charity. Many local volunteers, and youth groups will be volunteering to make sure the weekend event runs smoothly to make it successful. Spearheading this event from the local perspective is Don Lewis, Cory Lewis, and Wayne Orr, who will be working alongside BJ Prince of Rawhide Rodeo, as well as, Committee Members to make this a successful event.

You are encouraged to pop by and meet the Cowboys, Cowgirls, and Sheep Shearer’s from all around the world. This will be a great family event to attend, however, it should be pointed out that there will “not” be any public camping available.
